Nepotism and Corruption in RPNGC Recruitment

There have been ongoing concerns about nepotism and corruption in the recruitment process. Senior officers and government officials have acknowledged these issues and have taken steps to outsource the recruitment process to minimize bias and ensure fairness. Despite these efforts, some challenges remain, and there are calls for more effective strategies to combat the negative culture within the force.

Better Way to Recruit

PNG Police, Defence and CIS recruitment via DHERST online application and selection systems

Since 2022, the RPNGC has embraced online recruitment to enhance efficiency. While this is a significant improvement, is it truly effective? The competition remains intense, with only 500 training spots available per session. There have been instances of clashes between recruitment officials and training officers, suggesting that the selection process might not be as stringent as it should be.

When you apply online, be aware that your application will still undergo manual screening. We hope for a transparent selection process, ensuring that every applicant is given an opportunity based on merit.
